The short version

• We collect what we need to run your ads and bill you: your account and business details, your ad content, and basic technical data.
• We never sell your information, and we never share it so another company can advertise to you.
• Card numbers go straight to our payment processor. We don't have them. We keep the last four digits so you can tell which card is on file.
• Our screens only display. They have no camera, no microphone, and no sensor, and they don't detect, count, or recognize anyone.
• The one cookie we set keeps you logged in. It is not an advertising tracker.

Who this covers

This policy applies to Lakewood Circuit ("Lakewood Circuit", "we", "us"), our website at lakewoodcircuit.com, and the screens we operate. It's written for businesses that advertise with us, businesses that host our screens, and anyone visiting our site. We operate from Lakewood, New Jersey.

What we collect

• Account details. Your name, email address, and a password. Passwords are stored only as a salted hash, so we cannot read them. If you use the Google sign-in button instead, Google tells us your name and email address and confirms the sign-in. We never receive your Google password.
• Business details. Business name, contact email and phone number, and for a host location, the address of that location.
• Ad content. Everything you submit for an ad: headline and body text, call to action, images, video, uploaded files, links, and any description you type when you ask us to prepare an ad for you. We keep it so we can review it, display it, and re-run it later if you want.
• Payment information. Card details are entered with our payment processor and are not stored on our systems. What we keep is the processor's customer and subscription reference, the last four digits and the status of the card on file, and a record of amounts, dates, refunds, and any promotional code used.
• Messages you send us. The name, email, and message from our contact and feedback forms, and any email correspondence with you.
• Technical data. A session cookie, plus ordinary server records: IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested, and the time of the request. Our hosting and security provider keeps similar records to block abuse.
• Approximate location, only where content needs it. Each screen location has a ZIP code on file, which we send to a Jewish-calendar service to get the correct local zmanim and to a weather service for the local forecast. When a host enters a street address, we send it to a mapping service to place a pin on the map. We don't track the location of website visitors beyond the general information in server logs, and we collect nothing at all about the people who walk past or sit near a screen.

What we don't collect

• Full card, bank, or Social Security numbers.
• Any data about the people who see the screens: no cameras, no microphones, no face detection, no people counting, no Wi-Fi or phone sensing.
• Sensitive categories of personal information. Please don't send them to us.
• Purchased contact lists, and we don't build advertising profiles on anyone.

Why we use it

• To provide the service — creating your account, reviewing your ad, displaying it, keeping the loop running. Basis: performing our contract with you.
• To bill you — charging the weekly price and any creative fee, and handling failed payments and refunds. Basis: our contract with you.
• To send you service email — approval notices, receipts, renewal reminders, payment problems, password resets. Basis: our contract with you. These aren't marketing, and they continue while your account is open.
• To keep the service safe and working — preventing fraud and abuse, diagnosing faults, protecting our screens and hosts. Basis: our legitimate interest in a secure, reliable service.
• To meet legal and accounting obligations — tax and financial records, and responding to lawful requests. Basis: legal obligation.
• To tell you about Lakewood Circuit — occasional email about the network or an offer. Basis: your consent or our legitimate interest. Every such email has a way to opt out, and opting out never affects your ads.

Who we share it with

Only with providers who need it to do a specific job for us, under terms that limit them to that job. Here are the categories, and who currently fills them:

• Hosting, network, and security — Cloudflare (United States), which serves our site and screens.
• Database and file storage — Cloudflare D1 for account, ad, and billing records, and Cloudflare R2 for the ad media you upload.
• Payment processing — Stripe, which handles card details and the weekly subscription.
• Email delivery — our transactional email provider, which sees the address we're writing to and the contents of the message, and records whether it was delivered.
• Ad preparation — if you ask us to prepare an ad from a description, the description and business details you give us are sent to the outside service we use to produce that draft. Please don't include anything confidential.
• Mapping and geocoding — an OpenStreetMap-based mapping service for the locations map and for turning a host's address into map coordinates. Pages that display a map load map images from that provider, so your browser's IP address is visible to it.
• Jewish calendar, zmanim, and weather — for the free community slides. These receive only a ZIP code or coordinates for a screen location, never anything about you.
• Professional advisers — our accountant or lawyer, where they need it.
• Law and safety — where we are legally required, or where it's necessary to protect someone's rights or safety.
• A change of ownership — if the business is sold or merged, records may transfer with it, and this policy keeps applying until you're told otherwise.

We do not sell personal information, and we don't share it for anyone else's advertising. The businesses that host our screens see the ads on the screen, like everyone else. They don't get your account records.

One thing to be clear about: your ad itself is public. Once it's live it is visible on every screen in the network, and it can appear in the live loop we show on our own website.

How long we keep it

• Account and ad records — while your account is open, and for up to 24 months after it closes, so we can answer questions and re-run a past ad if you ask.
• Uploaded ad media — for as long as the ad exists. It's deleted with the ad, and backup copies age out after that.
• Billing and tax records — at least seven years, as U.S. tax rules require.
• Server logs — a short period, usually weeks, then discarded or reduced to totals.
• Login sessions — up to 30 days, or until you log out.

When you ask us to close your account, we delete or anonymize whatever we aren't required to keep.

How we protect it

• All traffic to our site travels over HTTPS.
• Passwords are stored as salted PBKDF2-SHA-256 hashes, never in readable form.
• Session cookies are HttpOnly and Secure, and they expire.
• Dashboards sit behind a login, and staff roles limit who can see what.
• Card data is handled by our PCI-compliant payment processor rather than by us.

Honestly: no website, database, or method of transmission is perfectly secure, and we can't promise absolute security. If a breach ever affects your information, we will tell you and the appropriate authorities as the law requires, without unnecessary delay.

Your choices and rights

• See what we hold. Most of it is in your dashboard. Ask us for a copy of the rest.
• Correct it. Edit your business details and your ads yourself, or ask us to fix something.
• Delete it. Delete an ad from your dashboard, or ask us to close your account and delete your data.
• Stop marketing email. Use the opt-out in any such email, or just ask. Service email about your account, ads, and billing continues while your account is open.
• Get a copy to take with you. Ask and we'll send a machine-readable export of what you gave us.
• Object, or complain. Tell us and we'll look into it.

To do any of these, email support@lakewoodcircuit.com or use our contact form. We'll respond within 30 days, and we may need to confirm who you are first. Exercising these rights is free, and we won't treat you or your ads differently for it. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under state privacy law; we apply the same practices to everyone.

Cookies

We set one cookie, named "sid". It records that you're logged in, lasts up to 30 days or until you log out, and is marked HttpOnly, Secure, and SameSite. That's the whole list. No advertising cookies, no third-party trackers, no cross-site profiling.

If you choose the Google sign-in button, Google's own sign-in code runs on our login page and Google may set its own cookies. You can use email and password instead. Blocking cookies altogether will prevent you from logging in.

Children

Lakewood Circuit is a service for businesses. It isn't directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. Accounts require an adult of at least 18. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.

Where your information is handled

We operate from Lakewood, New Jersey, and our providers store data in the United States. If you contact us from another country, your information will be processed here.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we'll email account holders. Earlier versions are available on request.
